IIChE(NRC) 'Learning with the Leaders' Lecture Series

Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (Northern Regional Centre) organized the ‘Learning with the Leaders’ Lecture Series on 22 August 2026 at Auditorium, IIChE (NRC), New Delhi.
Prof. Anil Verma, Chairman, IIChE (NRC) welcomed the eminent speakers, members and participants.
Mr. Sameer Vashisht, Group Manager, Tech Proposal Leads and Specialists and Mr. Nitin Sharma, Proposal Specialist-Decarbonization, Blue hydrogen, Steam-methane reforming, Ammonia, Topsoe India Private Ltd., presented a paper on “Production of renewable fuels from renewable feedstock using Topsoe Hydroflex Technology integrated with H2bridge Technology'.
Mr. P. P. Srivastava, Director (Admn.), IIChE-NRC; Former Joint Industrial Adviser, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals & Former Inspector (CPT), Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, presented a paper on 'Chemical Weapons Convention - Declaration and Verification of Chemical Facilities'.
Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee, Honorary Secretary, IIChE (NRC) delivered the concluding remarks and vote of thanks.
The Lecture Series was attended by NRC Members, Invitees and students from Delhi Technological University, University School of Chemical Technology-GGSIP University-Delhi, RBS College-Agra, IIT Delhi and Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, University of Delhi.

Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers-Northern Regional Centre (IIChE-NRC) has organized a plant visit to M/s UFlex Ltd., Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on 11 April, 2026. The visiting group consists of Chemical Engineering students of various IIChE-NRC Student Chapters and IIT Delhi. The purpose of the visit was to help the students to acquaint themselves with operational practices in the chemical manufacturing facility. Some NRC/EC members have also joined the plant visit.

IIChE-NRC celebrated its Foundation Day on February 08, 2025 (Saturday) at the Auditorium, IIChE-NRC, New Delhi. On this occasion, there were Expert Talks from the following eminent professionals:

Dr. Alok Sharma, Director (R&D) and Board Member, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. The title of the Expert Talk was ‘Accelerating the Energy Transition: Pathways to Net Zero’.

Mr. Soumitra Kundu, Former Director Sales, and Member of Executive Board, Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. The title of the Expert Talk was ‘Chemical Process Plants - Project Formulation, Conceptualisation, Feasibility Reports and Licensor Selection’.
The Award for IIChE-NRC best M.Tech Thesis (2023-24) and Golden Jubilee Scholarships (2024-25) were also distributed to the selected students.
The programme was attended by more than 105 participants including NRC Members and students from IIT Delhi, Delhi Technological University, USCT-GGSIP University-Delhi, DCRUST Murthal, etc.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar Jalan, Advisor, UN Office for Information and Communication Technology, New Delhi, presented a paper on “The need for global water resource management and its impact on climate change”. Dr. Jalan mentioned about the need for global water resource management.
Mr. K.K. Sharma, Whole Time Director – EHS, DCM Shriram Ltd., presented a paper on “Low Carbon Emission Technologies”. Mr. Sharma highlighted the need to adopt low carbon emission technologies by various corporates to mitigate climate change for business sustainability.
