Prof. Anil Verma

Prof. Anil Verma is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Delhi. He worked in as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, USA; and Visiting Fellow, University of Newcaste upon Tyne, UK.

 

Prof. Verma's research work is primarily focussed on sustainable electrochemical systems such as Redox Flow Battery, Fuel Cells, and CO2 Electrochemical Reduction. He has published more than 120 research papers/book chapters/monographs/patents. He has filed 9 patents (national and International) including 6 granted. Under his guidance, 14 students have received Ph.D. degrees. Prof. Verma has executed 26 funded research projects and 2 are being executed. The research work of Prof. Verma is primarily funded by Government organizations and industries such as DST, SERB, DBT, CSIR, OIL India, BRNS, ISRO, CRERE Saudi Arabia, Cenovus Energy Inc., Canada, Saturnose USA, Indus Tower Pvt Ltd, LG (India) etc.

 

He is the Editor-in-Chief of Indian Chemical Engineer (IIChE Journal published by Taylor and Francis). Prof. Verma is recipient of many prestigious awards including National Innovation Challenge Award by Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, UKIERI Research Fellowship Award, Amar Dye-Chem Award for Excellence in Research and Development from IIChE. His group is also regularly conducting 6-month long advanced online certificate programmes on E-vehicle technology for executives from automobile and related industries.

 

He is Chairman of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (Northern Regional Centre), New Delhi for the period 2024-26.
